New in Town - intaglio collagraph, laser engraving, lasercut, 80 × 100 inches

When I became a father I started recording every walk I took my daughter on. I did not really know how I was going to make art with a full time job and our family to care for. It turns out, in my case, you do similar things to what you have always done, only now you’re not the only one making marks. New in Town consists of eighty 10 × 10 inch collagraph panels, laser engraved with every walk we took our daughter on for the first eight months of her life. It was originally made and installed at my exhibition, Getting Somewhere, at Concordia University Saint Paul, MN

I also turned this work into an 5 × 7 inch artist book printed on 70 lb. French Paper using a Risograph sf5130, Hand bound with a letterpresses and pen plotted Rives bak Cover. It was designed, printed, and bound shortly after our daughter turned two, June 2024 in an edition on eight.
